Die aus dem US-Bundesstaat Colorado stammenden ALLEGAEON haben das Frontcover ihres Metal Blade Debüts Fragments of Form and Function enthüllt. Das Cover wurde von niemand geringerem als Colin Marks gestaltet, welcher für seine eindringlichen Artworks für Bands wie Scar Symmetry, Nevermore und Strapping Young Lad bekannt ist.

Fragments Of Form And Function ist der Debütlongplayer für ALLEGAEON und wurde von Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage) im Flatline Audio im Januar 2010 produziert.

Sänger Ezra Haynes erklärt das Albumkonzept: "The concept of Fragments of Form and Function is in one way or another science related theories. Some of the topics we touch base on are cryonics, stem cell research, evolution, pharmaceutical structure and so on."
