SWIM OR DROWN - neue EP "Torment"

Die nordniederländische Metallic-Hardcore-Mannschaft SWIM OR DROWN hat am 01. Juli 2022 ihre EP "Torment" über WTF Records veröffentlicht.

Sänger Jan de Groot erklärt: "'Torment' ist unsere vierte EP, und wir sind stolz darauf. Voller Wut vertreibt die EP unsere Frustrationen. Der Titeltrack ist der wichtigste Song der Veröffentlichung, da er über meinen Kampf mit den Dämonen spricht, die mich heute noch verfolgen. Und natürlich haben wir ein Lied, um unsere Abneigung gegen die Religion zu zeigen."

Das 2008 in Heerenveen ansässige Unternehmen SWIM OR DROWN zaubert reines metallisches Hardcore-Adrenalin. Das niederländische Quintett bringt seit 14 Jahren mit der gleichen Besetzung die absolute Hölle, die sie auf die gleiche Weise fortsetzen möchten. "Wir sind so verdammt stolz darauf und hoffen, dass wir weitere 14 Jahre hinzufügen können", sagt der Sänger Jan. Sie haben bereits ein paar EPs in ihrem Arsenal gespeichert und viele Shows mit POISON IDEA, BIOHAZARD, MERAUDER, SINISTER und STILLBIRTH gespielt.

Die vierte EP, Torment, zeigt, dass SWIM OR DROWN nach all den Jahren immer noch wütend ist und bereit ist, bei Bedarf Schläge auszutauschen. Während der gesamten EP haben sie meist ihrer Frustration und Wut Luft gemacht, aber auch ihren Hass auf Religion zum Ausdruck gebracht ("Blind Leading the Blind") und über den Kampf des Frontmanns mit dem wiederkehrenden inneren Dämon (der Titeltrack) gesprochen. Die Songs auf der EP sind kurz und einfach, aber voller abrasiver, energiereicher Komponenten und treibender Impulse.

The Northern Netherlands metallic hardcore squad SWIM OR DROWN has released their EP, Torment, today (01 July 2022) via WTF Records.

Vocalist Jan de Groot states: "'Torment' is our fourth EP, and we are proud of it. Full of rage, the EP expels our frustrations. The title track is the most important song of the release as it talks about my battle with the demons that still haunt me today. And, of course, we have a song to show our dislike for the religion."

Emerged in 2008, Heerenveen-based SWIM OR DROWN conjures pure metallic hardcore adrenaline. The Dutch quintet has brought absolute hell for 14 years with the same lineup, which they would like to continue the same way. "We are so fucking proud of this, and we hope that we can add another 14 years," states the vocalist Jan. They have already stored a couple of EPs in their Arsenal and played plenty of shows with the likes of POISON IDEA, BIOHAZARD, MERAUDER, SINISTER and STILLBIRTH

The fourth EP "Torment" indicates that SWIM OR DROWN is still angry after all these years and ready to exchange blows if needed. Throughout the EP, they have mostly vented their frustration and anger, but also expressed their hatred towards religion ("Blind Leading the Blind") and talked about the frontman's battle with the recurring inner demon (the title track). The songs on the EP are short and simplistic, but full of abrasive, high-energy components and propulsive momentums.
