IN FLAMES - neues Album "Foregone" 10.02.23

IN FLAMES' vierzehntem Studioalbum "Foregone" erscheint am 10. Februar 2023 über Nuclear Blast

Frontmann Anders Fridén sagt: "Als wir in die "Foregone"-Sessions gingen, wollten wir eine Platte machen, die stark gitarrengetrieben war und eine starke Grundlage zwischen Bass und Schlagzeug hatte. Wir sind unser Songwriting immer noch auf die gleiche Weise angegangen, wie wir es immer getan haben, als Gegenüberstellung von Melodie und Aggression. Das ist die DNA unserer Musik. Vom lyrischen Ende der Dinge gab es keinen Mangel an Inspiration, aus der man schöpfen konnte, insbesondere dem Konzept der Zeit."

Er fährt fort: "Die Menschheit als Ganzes war gezwungen, langsamer zu werden und eine Verschnaufpause einzulegen. In dieser Pause verbrachten viele von uns Zeit damit, zu bewerten und neu zu priorisieren. Zeit ist eine Konstante, aber was machen wir damit und wie wir sie wahrnehmen, ist unterschiedlich. Gerade jetzt, wenn man sich anschaut, wohin sich die Welt schneller als je zuvor zu bewegen scheint."

Fridén schließt mit den Worten: "Es ist verrückt, dass wir nach allem immer noch hier sind und auf unserem vierzehnten Album. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass wir mit Forgone eine großartige Balance zwischen Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft gefunden haben. Dies ist eine neue Ära von IN FLAMES!"

Der Visualizer wurde von Oleg Rooz erstellt. Der ukrainische Grafikdesigner verwendete bahnbrechende KI-Technologie, um die Visuals zu erstellen. Als eine der ersten Bands, die sich bei einem Musikvideo auf KI verlassen, bleiben IN FLAMES auf dem neuesten Stand.

"Ich dachte, dass alles, was wir in den letzten Jahren durchgemacht haben, eine Erinnerung daran sein würde, dass das Leben kostbar ist und dass die Zeit nicht auf unserer Seite ist", bietet Fridén an. "Leider habe ich das Gefühl, dass wir in einer Welt aufgewacht sind, die feindseliger und düsterer ist als je zuvor. Die Uhr tickt und der Countdown läuft..."

IN FLAMES' fourteenth studio album, Foregone, arrives via Nuclear Blast on February 10, 2023. 

Frontman Anders Fridén states, "Going into the "Foregone" sessions, we wanted to make a record that was heavily guitar-driven, and that had a strong foundation between the bass and drums. We still approached our songwriting the same way, as we always have, as a juxtaposition between melody and aggression. That's the DNA of our music. From the lyrical end of things, there was no shortage of inspiration to draw from, especially the concept of time."

He continues, "Humanity as a whole was forced to slow down and take breather. In that break, many of us spent time evaluating and reprioritizing. Time is a constant, but what do we do with it and how we perceive it varies. Especially now looking at where the world seems to be headed faster than ever before."

Fridén finishes, "It's crazy that after everything we are still here and on our fourteenth album. I feel that we've found a great balance between the past, the present and the future with Forgone. This is a new era of IN FLAMES!"

The visualizer was created by Oleg Rooz. The Ukrainian graphic designer used groundbreaking AI technology to create the visuals. As one of the first bands relying on AI for a music video, IN FLAMES remain on the cutting edge.
