HOST signen bei Nuclear Blast Records

HOST, das neue Projekt von PARADISE LOST-Sänger Nick Holmes und Gitarrist Greg Mackintosh, haben bei Nuclear Blast Records unterschrieben und ihr Debütalbum IX angekündigt, das am 24. Februar erscheinen soll.

Zeitgleich mit der Ankündigung haben HOST ein Video zu ihrer ersten Single "Tomorrow's Sky" veröffentlicht, einem kaskadierenden, synthiegeladenen Track, der von einer unersättlichen Pop-Vocal-Hook angetrieben wird. Das Video wurde von Ash Pears von AshTV gedreht und produziert.

In Bezug auf das Projekt selbst kommentiert Greg Mackintosh: "HOST ist etwas, das ich schon ein paar Jahre im Kopf hatte, aber bis jetzt nie die Zeit hatte, ihm gerecht zu werden. Es nimmt das Konzept dessen, was wir auf dem PARADISE LOST-Album "Host" versucht haben, aber nähert sich ihm in einem modernen Kontext. Es ist teils 80er-Jahre-Gothic, teils Elektro, teils Rock, aber keiner von ihnen speziell. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf Hooks und Atmosphäre. Es ist eine ziemliche Herausforderung, miserable Musik eingängig zu machen, und hoffentlich haben wir das bis zu einem gewissen Grad erreicht."

HOST, the new project from PARADISE LOST vocalist Nick Holmes and guitarist Greg Mackintosh, have signed to Nuclear Blast Records and announced their debut album IX, for release on the 24th February.

To coincide with the announcement, HOST have released a video for their first single 'Tomorrow's Sky', a cascading, synth laden track driven by an insatiable pop vocal hook. The video was directed and produced by Ash Pears of AshTV.

In relation to the project itself, Greg Mackintosh comments: "HOST is something that I had in mind for a few years but never had the time to do it justice until now. It's taking the concept of what we attempted to do on the PARADISE LOST album 'Host' but approaching it in a modern context. It's part 80s goth, part electro , part rock but none of them specifically. The emphasis is on hooks and atmosphere. It's quite a challenge to make miserable music catchy and hopefully we've achieved that to some degree."
